Practice Sessions and Final Testing Session
All EMT Basic Students are required to attend a 3-day Exit Session. You will be trained and tested on your hands on skills and at the completion of the Exit Session you will be cleared to begin you Clinical Rotations. Exit Sessions for the EMT Basic level occur state wide at least once a month.
All Intermediate/Paramedic 1 students
are required to attend TWO 2-day Practice Sessions and successfully
complete a 2-day Final Skills Testing
Session. These sessions are currently scheduled at one or two approved
locations in the state of Texas, one in Goliad and the other in Tyler.
All Paramedic 2 students
are required to attend TWO 2-day Practice Sessions and successfully
complete a 2-day Final Skills Testing
Session. These sessions are currently scheduled at one or two approved
locations in the state of Texas, one in Goliad and the other in Tyler.
Students will be required to RSVP for their selected sessions three weeks prior to the posted session date. To avoid
additional fees, students should only RSVP and attend sessions after
they have memorized ALL skills sheets provided in the program and
watched ALL skills videos provided in the program and on any DVD/CD
that comes with their textbooks. (Students who find local educators to
assist them in prior practice tend to do better at the Practice or
Testing sessions, but outside practice is NOT required.) Students MUST
attend the sessions for which they have RSVP'd or additional fees for
rescheduling will be required.
Tuition
paid to PERCOM only covers the tuition for the online course and the sessions outlined above. Any further sessions
requested by the student or required due to unpreparedness or "no-show"
after RSVP are not covered. Travel expenses to attend the sessions are
NOT included in the base tuition price for the course.
Practice
and Testing Session dates are posted inside the course once you are
enrolled. These dates are subject to change and should be monitored
closely by the student.
